1. US Strategic Petroleum Reserve. "Only ~400k barrels were released from the SPR last week-the slowest pace since March and a sign that stockpiles are nearing minimum levels required for safety."
2. Gas prices. "Average price is now within a dime of the wartime peak"
3. Cybersecurity vs. Semis correlation. "Cybersecurity offers a decorrelated exposure to Semiconductor stocks, different in 2026 vs. prior years"
4. South Korean exports. "Korean customs data offer the earliest and cleanest reading on global technology demand, and the first ten days of September produced some of the largest numbers on record. Semiconductor shipments were worth $16.5 billion in that window, close to three and a half times their value a year earlier, and accounted for 47 per cent of all Korean exports."
5. Payout ratios. "Here we see the payout growth rate and payout ratio for the Mag 7 against the equal-weighted S&P 500, value, financials, EAFE, and EM. The Mag 7 led this secular bull market from 2014 through 2025, but it looks to me like its reign has ended."
